This is too funny. This guy attempted to get across Manhattan being carried, in some for or another. Read more about him and his other stunts on The Huffington Post.

Knitting Night Light
The Knit Lite and the Crochet Lite are great little inventions that allow you to continue your project in the dark with glowing LED tips. Think of all the possibilities. What better way to crochet during a movie?
Recycled Glass Lamp
Love this bright green recycled glass globe lamp from VivaTerra. My living room is currently totally neutral with browns and beiges and I've been trying to pick an accent color, orange or green. This lamp may have pulled me to the green side.

A Travel Companion
Really like this overhead laminated canvas bag sold on One Kings Lane today. I'm in the market for a sleek new travel bag so that I don't have to carry my usual 12 different plastic bags and random carry-ons that I end up having to stuff into my suitcase anyways! It's $69 on sale.

Home Surprises
I received an LL Bean home magazine today and was pleasantly surprised! I've never seen one before, and while a lot of it was way too old school for my taste, there were a few great finds in between.

Movies: Avatar
I wasn't even particularly interested in seeing this movie when I went. What sold me was the fact that I'd never seen a movie in 3D. I couldn't have been more pleased and surprised, I loved it! And the special effects were really amazing. If you haven't seen it yet I highly recommend it.

Perfect Brownies
Yes, I admit I can get easily sucked into infomercials, who doesn't? This was a rather interesting one which I am going to order called the Perfect Brownie. It's genius! Basically you can cook the brownies in a grid-like formation so that they come out baked as pieces and each brownie has the edges. Also, the bottom pushes up so that you don't have to transport them to another dish. I mean seriously, I know I sound like an ad right now but why haven't I heard of this until now?

For the Love of Ties
My latest project first entailed gathering my husbands old ties that he still has from the 7th grade! Next I bought a frame from Target for $25 that is meant to double as storage for artwork, so the side width was bigger than normal. Next I cut the ties lengthwise after laying them down in the pattern I wanted. I glued the top one first, totally flat against the cardboard backing. The rest of the ties, working my way down, I glued along the side and bottom of each tie, forming a pocket. I hung it by the door, and now we have a preppy mail holder to help us get organized in the New Year!
